Turn Table
Build a landing pad for your record player.

One of the reference books I keep around the shop is Nomadic Furniture, a DIY manual from the
early ’70s that’s packed with a host of woodworking feats. Flipping through the pages, I came
across an endlessly customizable sliding-panel table and storage unit that seemed like a prime
candidate for updating. We designed this one so we could swap out a panel top and drop in a sound
system. At coffee-table height, the piece is kind of low to DJ from, but hey man, in the ’70s they just
sat around on floor pillows and played records, right?
