Cut the pieces

are one or two sizes larger
than you normally wear for

Lettuce-edge
Set a sewing machine to a
small zigzag stitch. Stitch
along the shirt edges, as
indicated on the diagrams,
stretching the fabric in front
of and behind the presser
foot as you go. The stretching
causes the edge to ru e
when released. Practice on a
scrap to get the hang of it.
NOTE: For contrasting trim
on the tunic underlayer,
lettuce-edge together the
cut hem of Shirt No. 1 and the
bottom edge of Shirt No. 2.

Sew two on
front and two
on the back,
folding under
edges.
