1. Choose the clock kit that you
like the best.
2. Drill 12 holes around the edge
of the clock for insertion of the
antennas.
3. Paint or decorate the clock. I
chose to paint the face black with
acrylic paint. (When dry, I glued on
concentric circle-patterned cra;
paper to introduce the mod theme.)
4. Apply glue to the antennas and
insert into the drilled holes. Since
epoxy glue dries relatively quickly,
the antennas will set without
having to secure them with braces.
Allow the glue to dry, and in no
time (ba dum bum) you’ll have a
compliment-worthy clock.

WHY
“I returned to The Art
Institute of Dallas for a
second career, where I am
currently an interior design
student. A recent course on
the creative process called
on the principles of adaptive
reuse and green design.
Each student had to create
a project for this Macgyver
challenge using old antennas.
The most di;cult part for
me was deciding what to
do with them, but a;er that,
all the stars fell into place
and I ended up creating this
very simple project that was
actually fun.”
